School will be in session very soon across New York! With students back in classrooms next week, we all need to consider how to help foster that creative spark in our youth. With that in mind, we are excited to announce Maker Faire Rochester’s Student S.T.E.A.M. Fest in partnership with NYSCATE.

What is the Student S.T.E.A.M. Fest? It’s a special sneak peek at Maker Faire Rochester held on Friday, November 16th, from 9 AM to 2:30 PM. We are opening this day to school and (home school groups) for students in 3rd to 8th grade.

This day will be organized to allow students and their teachers the opportunity to see and engage in making activities across multiple categories including:
  • Robots and Drones
  • Think, Design, Create (Manufacturing)
  • Sustainability
  • The Arts; Hands on Science (Applied Sciences)
  • Culinary/Agriculture
  • Coding and Things that Go Beep (Micro controllers, Mini Computers, and Coding)
  • DIY (jewelry, home repair/construction, and more)
If you are a maker, the Student S.T.E.A.M. Fest is a great way to help share your knowledge and passion to inspire the next generation of makers. Please consider sharing your gifts and answering the Call for Makers.

If you are a business interested in sponsoring a hands on activity or covering the cost for a class to attend, check out our Sponsorship Packet.

If you are a parent, grandparent, guardian, or involved with local schools in any manner, please share our Student S.T.E.A.M. Fest posters (Poster 1, Poster 2) and the Student STEAM Fest Registration Form with your local school.

We have a special performance that we are bringing in to ignite the curiosity of students. Jason Latimer world champion magician and curator of Impossible Science at the Fleet Science Center in San Diego California will be bringing his show live and in person! This is an opportunity for schools not to miss!

We hope that you’ll join us for this special one of a kind event!
