Hi I'm Rose, I am currently 10 years old. I have interested in and making robots since I was in 2nd grade. Come by my booth to talk to me about robotics, see what I've made, and maybe even make your own mini Vibrobot to take with you. ($3 fee to cover cost of materials.)Project Website
Rose, currently in 6th Grade, has been interested in Robotics since she was in 2nd grade. Rose made her first robot, the Artbot, in 2nd grade and has been making and reviewing Robots ever since. She learned to solder between 3rd and 4th grades. Rose is currently also interested in 3D printing, and wants to eventually learn how to print and construct prosthetics as she has been inspired by RIT's eNable. When you ask her what she wants to be someday her usual answer is a robotic prosthetist. Rose not only loves to make and tinker with robots, but she loves to create in other mediums. She taught herself how to knit using YouTube videos and creates doll houses, doll furniture, and more using scrap materials, imagination, and lots of glue gun glue sticks. She also loves to dance and takes multiple dance classes (ballet, tap, acrobatics), and has also begun to learn the violin. Rose regularly volunteers to help the Rochester Mini Maker Faire by representing the RMMF at other events, and behind the scenes with setup before the Faire. This year Rose has been made an honorary RMMF Chairperson. In addition, Rose has had her robotics booth and/or done presentations at multiple events over the past few years where she shares her experiences and tries to inspire others to delve into robotics. Recently she started a hands-on activity where participants can make their own vibrobot, a first step into robotics. Rose has presented at events for Erie 1 BOCES (Nov 2015), CA BOCES (July 2016), Erie 2 BOCES (May 2017), Fredonia Mini Maker Faire (2016), Rochester Mini Maker Faire (2015 & 2016), Wellsville School Maker Faire (2016), FLX Maker Fest (2017), and on several occasions at the Rochester Museum and Science Center.
