Aprille Byam

For six years, Aprille Byam has been hitting the Rochester streets as Storychick. Her mission: to use story to strengthen our community. She has gathered and shared stories for the Key Bank Rochester Fringe Festival, Cumming Nature Center of the Rochester Museum and Science Center, TEDxRochester, Hidden Passions, the Rochester International Film Festival, Airigami's Balloon Adventure, and more. By day, she works to help others understand the stories embedded in customer survey data. She also shares stories on Saturday mornings at 10am on WAYO 104.3FM. A native Rochesterian, Aprille has a passion for her city and for creating great things within it.

What inspired you to make this project?
I wanted the stories I share to also be discoverable. To be something people could stumble upon. I wanted to make the stories accessible to those who weren't likely to come to a stage performance. The booth is the result of that effort.
