What inspired you to make this project?
Friday: Body painting is unusual. It gets people to stop and think, and can subsequently be great a catalyst for conversations. This is exciting for different reasons in different settings. In the case of this faire, I am excited to use body painting as a teaching tool to engage students with the convergence of science and art- without science, we wouldn't know how to create certain effects, and without art we wouldn't be able to share the effects in an accessible way. For Friday's event, I'm excited to show students what can be achieved with interdisciplinary listening, hard work, lots of practice, attention to feedback, and collaboration. I also will use this as an opportunity to spread awareness about the difference between plastic glitter and biodegradable glitter, as well as what it means to offer carbon-neutral options.
Saturday: I love the challenge of using airbrush and combining my art background with my clients' ideas. I also love seeing their joy, curiosity, and excitement when they get painted or have a custom piece airbrushed.
