“MCC Optics Club will be presenting hands-on optical demonstrations for the curious mind of all-ages, along with information promoting STEAM education at MCC and career opportunities in the Greater Rochester region."

Our interactive “How It Works” & “Build Your Own” Demonstrations will include multi-element camera systems, two-way mirrors, microscopes, telescopes , light controlled robotics along with prisms, various types of optical lenses, simple lasers, and optical illusions to allow students of ages to explore how they can control the power of light.”

MCC Optics Club's focus is to educate and promote Optics and associated disciplines in the Greater Rochester Area. This is conducted through hands-on demonstrations and direct community interactions.

What inspired you to make this project?
My personal desire to educate individuals of all-ages about the opportunities in STEAM fields at MCC, Optics and it's applicable systems and applications, the importance of optics/photonics/imaging science to a path way to economic prosperity for this region, access to middle-class jobs and the career possibilities within the field, through affordable education.
