Elijah Horland

Elijah Horland is a self-taught maker, computer, and device builder. Starting at age 9, Elijah was featured by Make Magazine, MagPi, and other outlets long before he was on TV. In 2018 his big break came when he was chosen to participate in Adam Savage's "MythBusters Jr" produced by Beyond Networks. The show aired in January 2019 on the Science Channel. It is available on the Science Channel website and on Hulu, Netflix and iTunes/AppleTV. Still making projects, Elijah's 2019 projects include a larger-scale acoustic levitation "BigLev" scratch-built device and a high-altitude balloon with an amazing backstory. His current projects include reviews for small electronic devices and an entry into Allie Weber's "Hack-A-Pumpkin" challenge, which will be unveiled on 31 October.

What inspired you to make this project?
The acoustic levitator was made as a science fair project for a NYC public school.

Like the scratch-built "Laser Cutter" project which was submitted the year before, it was dismissed and disqualified from entry into the school fair.
